I have a VHS copy of Steel Magnolias that I bought still sealed almost a year ago. I have probably watched the movie 20 times since buying it with no problem, but last night when I put it in there was a problem.
I could hear the audio and see the closed captions, but there was no picture on the screen. When I fast forwarded I could see the picture, but it was black and white.
Does anyone know why it just stopped working all the sudden, or how to fix the problem?

Dirty heads, or tracking misadjustment, or both. Clean the heads (with a head cleaner tape, or better, by having a technician use swabs), then adjust the tracking control/dial.
Or better yet, buy the DVD or BD!
