This may not effect you(living in the UK) but the '02 E30 has a black level bug for N. American use, other than that it's a very old DVDR and like all pre '05 Panasonics only record full D1 resolution in SP and faster.
I'm not a big fan of LG DVDRs mainly because of reliability but if it's a newer model it may be a decent choice and lastly I'm not to familiar with the Philips models so I won't comment on it.
Actually I believe all the models you listed are basically only full resolution in SP and faster but I know the Panasonic being so old will not do thumbnails oh and also only records to -R and RAM discs(no + or DL media support). Again if the LG is newer I may steer you towards it. -
Well the LG, if I read the spec correctly, is the only one from the 3 that will upscale over hdmi.
If you have a HDTV(or thinking of getting one) then that is the only one you would need.
Just my 2 cents. -
Just an fyi I'd keep at least 2 so if one fails you have a backup.
Also unless storage is it a premium why are you getting rid of them? If you have offers for them I understand that. Otherwise like I said keep 2 for a fail safe.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Thanks for the replies guys!
@jjeff: Yes the LG has HDMI which could be useful but I do have a PS3 and a modded original Xbox which can upscale fine. I quite liked the E30's use of RAM discs as editing with it is easy and hassle free. But it is old!
@DB83: Fair enough. I do have an HDTV.
@yoda313: Thats a good point. But which 2nd one? Ive think Ill keep the LG. The Phillips seems a little cheap and even tho the Panny is old, it does seem like a quality machine. Guess Ill do sum real life tests on each and see.
Cheers all. -
