DVD slideshow from DVDSlideshow GUI vs NLE

I have been working on a holiday DVD i.e. a mixture of photos and videos. I notice that the slideshow output quality from DVDSlideshow GUI is much superior than that of NLE. Both are using HCenc encoder and same setting. NLE flow is Premiere > Debugmode frameserve > HCenc. Am I missing something ?

I tried many tweaks in Premiere and this seem to produce quality close to DVDSlideshow.
Start Premiere project with 1920x1080 with the following avisynth.

Avisource("C:\Sequence 01.avi")
ConvertToYV12()
LanczosResize(720,576)

But it still cannot match the quality that of DVDSlideshow.

Any other suggestions for improvement ?

I'm not familiar with Premiere, so I'll not be able to ansewer your question. I would just like to mention that you'll be able to import most video clips in DSG by selecting All Files in the import window.

Btw. you can use Media Info on the resulting files to see what the difference is between the files(ex. bitrate).

Hi tin2tin,
Both files are almost identical and bit rate is about 6,200kbps.
Just that the output from DVDSlideshow look visibily better.
