  1. How would I go about taking some MKV files with ASS subtitles and converting it to DVD format?
    I want to fit 12 episodes on a DVD-5.
It's an anime so it should compress pretty well.
I tried convertxtodvd, it almost worked but the subs messed up even when embedding the subs.
(The subs are separated from the MKV to accommodate other converters.)
I also want the subs to resize to the new resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio.
I'd also like the video to be ~24 fps rather than ~30.
Now, I tried some of the tutorials for MKV to DVD but none of them really worked very well.
How would I go about doing this?

Messed up how? Convertxtodvd is probably easiest.

    or

Have you tried avstodvd? Load the mkv, right click on the mkv and add the ass subtitle. Test convert one mkv first.

  3. When I use avstodvd, for some reason the video appears gray.

  5. Sorry for double post.
The subtitles are being burned in the files in the wrong order.

I'd recommend you ask about this in the AVStoDVD support thread. The author of the program, MrC, may also be more likely to see your post there, and help.
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
