I am sending out a small avi file to a a few dozen people (not clients as such, as this is a free thing).
These people want to be able to convert this avi file down to a MP4 or other formats that will work fine on:
Mobile phones
Video frames
small portable data projectors
etc
What free video converter would you recommend to these guys?
I thought of AnyVideo Converter which is perhaps the most popular.
But I heard that AVC is dropping some features hoping people with upgrade to their pro version etc.
Han anyone got any comments on what free converter I can recommend to these people?

It depends. Anyvideo converter free version, freemake video converter and video to video converter are probably easiest for most people. But they might not like that they are bundled with toolbars and crap(may be disabled when you install).

Too complex. You must manually set lots of settings. No simple profiles for phones, ipad, etc.

xmediarecode has presets for hundreds of devices
