Hi. I can remember a time when I could view and download as many videos as I liked.
Now it seems impossible to do that, and when I do try to download a video after my FUP expires I get the message 'Server returned HTTP response code: 500 for URL: http://www.youtube.com/get_video_info?video_id=dY1JmJw8EBg'.
Can I bypass all this and continue to download?
I'm damned if I'm going to spend 15 pounds here and there just to download 1 GB of video.
    Bloody ridiculous.
    Regards,
    Richard Steed

That does not sound like a FUP more like an ISP bandwidth cap.

And if you continue to use the internet beyond the cap you WILL be charged whether you download or not.

Better to change the package - get an unlimited one - there may be a FUP attached but you do not usually get 500 errors then unless you really go mad with the usage.

  3. I don't go mad with downloading. I just download HD videos from YT that amount to just over 1GB or a bit more.
If you make blu -ray discs like me for friends and family,1GB really isn't much in this day and age.

You need to check your Internet Providers monthly allowance F.U.P. - MANY UK ISP's have "unlimited" packages that are severely limited due to their "Fair Use Policy" (i.e. unlimited, so long as you don't use it).
And, sadly, the Advertising Standards people fell for the ISP's B.S. when they were challenged.
1GB isn't much in this day and age, but if you're doing that 20 times a day it soon adds up.
