I am ripping my DVD collection using DVD shrink. I rip my DVD's with no compression as I don't care about disk space and when I have a DVD that has DTS audio I tick that stream to include DTS.
When I run VOB2MPG Pro 3 and select a ripped DVD that has a DTS audio stream I click the down arrow to the right of the main video and under 'Audio Streams' I select English 'DTS' 6 chs and then I convert to MPG. My problem is that when I play these MPG files on my Home theatre system (which supports DTS sound and plays it without a problem from the DVD) I get no sound at all.
I purchased VOB2MPG as it claims it can handle DTS audio - is the process I am doing the correct way of achieving this??
Thanks for any help.

dts isn't supported in an mpg stream. you could try converting it to mkv if your playback device can play them.

no it handles them like it handles the video, they can be extracted to an mpg. whether or not the mpg is playable is not up to vob2mpg it's up to whatever hardware or software you play it with.
there are plenty of encoders you could try running your video through to convert it to a playable file. or try extracting the ac3 instead of the dts from the vobs.--
