  1. Hi,

My daughter has a dvd player for the car that can also read avi files from a stick.

Unfortunately, the dvd player part is now broken and I am trying to convert the dvds to avi format, so that I can play them in the car from a stick drive...and enjoy a more peaceful journey.

I can rip the files from the dvd with dvdfab (I just did the main movie and only in English without subtitles), but this leaves me with about 19 different files, 7 of which are a gigabyte each.

I have no idea how to get the 19 files (do I need all 19?) into one avi (traffic cone) file. Is there a tutorial somewhere on here that explains how to do this?

Is there any way I can get the resulting avi file down to about 1 gigabyte?

Would be grateful for any help.

Freemake video converter, select open dvd and choose the folder with all files(vob, ifo, bup), select to avi, choose the TV Quality (avi xvid mp3 preset) and convert.

Or use the old but still very good Autogk, open the vts01_0x.ifo file from the main vob(the ones that are biggest in file size), convert.
