Model BP200. When I press the disc menu button it brings up a red circle-with-line icon, doesn't go to the menu. I've seen this behavior on 2 commercial Blu-Ray disks and a commercial DVD.

So far haven't found anything in the manual or the LG site about this. I've written to customer service, still waiting on a response.

    Any insights?

    Thanks

    1) You need to test more discs.
    2) Not enough info to really help you.

For example, for all we know you are trying to push the menu button during the FBI anti-copy warning and you previously had a player that ignored PUO (prohibited user operation) settings so you're not used to being stopped when you push the menu button. Disc makers can restrict your ability to jump to the menu and may do so during anti-copy warnings and possibly even previews for other movies. It would be more meaningful to know that you tried, say, 10 different movies and were unable to jump to the menu even while playing the movies themselves. Some BluRay player remote controls may have 2 different menu buttons, so be sure you are pressing the correct one for your player.

I can't go to the menu at any time.

Dunno, this is my first Blu-Ray player. I've never encountered this issue with any DVD player. Sometimes during the intro stuff, but during the movie, it's been - push menu button, go to the menu.

I have a few retail Blurays that do NOT have a main menu but rather a static sub menu that you do not get to by pushing the main menu button.

That's the only time I can see the main menu - if I either wait or advance through the previews. And at the end of the movie of course.

i see that on a lot of rental dvds/blurays, but store bought dvds/blurays should let you acess the main menu
    anytime you want to.
