I am trying to convert movies which i have downloaded that are in .avi format have done the sound into .wav fine, but when I try to convert the video file using TMPEG I click browse and it says the file cannot be opened or is unsupported, I have tried with around 6 different movies and still no joy says the same thing.
please help somebody

make sure you have the proper DivX codec installed - some newer DivX movies floating around out there are encoded with version 5. I prefer 3.11, but unfortunately people are starting to encode with 5, so you have to keep up with the times I guess.
The other thing is, make sure you have all of the proper audio codecs installed - get the Nimo pack and do a custom install of ONLY the audio codecs & filters.
