Hi Guys, I'm a newbie to your site but from what I've seen so far it's a pretty impressive site. As you can probably gather
I have a problem. My whole system hangs whenever I try to Back up a dvd in nero and several other programs. It gets as far and the write stage, writes the lead in, about an milimetre of track then everything freezes leaving me no option other than
to re-boot. the only program that seems to copy without a problem is VSO Savetodvd. I have tried to cure things by reinstalling
Win XP sp3 but still have the problem. My burners are both LG. Please help if you can.
    Thanks
    Wombraider

  3. Same problem using either burner?
Have you tried a different brand of blank discs?
When you say it happens while you're trying to backup a DVD, are you ripping the DVD to your hard drive first and then burning the ripped files or are you trying to directly to copy a disc?

Based on all of the information you have provided....I'm going to have to say it's your laundry detergent causing the problem.

  7. With what program are you copying to hard drive?
    No...screw this approach....

Use either dvdfab or anydvd to copy dvd to hard drive.
Then use IMGburn to write back to disc.
Use burn speed of 8X for single layer and 4X for dual layer.

This is assuming your computer and writer are in good working order.
If they are not, you will have to fix them first.
Then follow instructions above, forget about nero for now.

And exactly who in the world do you think knows what that means ?!?!?!

    OH great crystal ball!!!!!!
Oh crap, it must be on the fritz!!!

Because between how many hdd's you have, how many partitions you have, how many optical drives you have, they could be any drive.

  9. I'll go out on a limb and guess it's pretty likely the OP has two optical drives, E and F.
I mean he said he has two burners, he said he has the same problem when burning E to E, or E to F, or F to F, so I'm not sure there's any need for flow charts or detailed illustrations.

Maybe the OP isn't all that PC proficient and doesn't know how to best describe what he's doing. Maybe he thinks the people responding here might be PC proficient enough to understand what he's referring to and ask relevant questions. Maybe he's wrong.

FFS, I know people who still think Internet Explorer is the internet. I'd feel for them if they needed to ask a question here.
