  1. Oh hai there cute people!
    I've got a problem with a movie. I've converted some old VHS do DVD and the final result had some horizontal stripes that made it impossible to watch. Can some tell me if there is any software or pluggin that can correct this?

    Thank you in advance!

    You see them, while the picture content is moving fast.

    You have missed to deinterlace. Your capture (recording) setup did not match the source (analog TV recording) or the file has incorrect information. Inspect the file with mediainfo and post it. You should tell us the hard and software you used for capture.

    Try burning the file as interlaced as jagabo requested.

  3. Do not deinterlace. Treat your video as interlaced. Burn an interlaced DVD.

  4. 4yournly thank you for your reply!

    The thing is that it wasn't me who made the convertion. I asked at a local company to do it. I can do it again asking for those changes but, I would have to pay for a new one I think and it would take a while to recieve a new one.

    It would be easier if there was a way to fix it myself... is it possible?

    @jagabo

    If the file carries correct info for the video i.e. 50i, 60i and you author it, the authoring program should take care of interlace and framerate for PAL or NTSC. Am I wrong ?

    They made the DVD? Then they did it wrong and should do it properly at no charge.

    Yes, but there is often a difference between "should" and "does".

    MiguelF, do you see the comb artifacts when playing on a DVD player and TV? If you're only seeing it on your computer you may just need to use a player that deinterlaces properly.

  8. It looks to me like it was resized while interlaced, wrecked beyond repair, and the company that did it should give you your money back due to their gross incompetence. But, as themaster1 suggested, a sample will be very useful to try and figure out what's really going on with it.
