  1. Using TMPGE to convert DIVX to mpg. That worked ok.
When I split the movie in half to fit on 2 cd's, Nero 5.5 gave me a burn failure with a wasted disc. Any ideas? Thanks, Scott.

when u cut ,choose mpeg-1 vcd instead of the default.
The default mpeg1 auto gives u non compliant mpeg.
See if this work or not.

Did u load the vcd template before converting?
what is the error message that Nero give ?
Try another software to burn the mpeg, I know that one named Fun cd ,can also burn vcd, and it's free. Give u the link if I find it again.

  5. hirotec, when i load the template, do i use the template for the format that the file is in? (if its pal, do i use pal format?). if so thats where i'm getting confused, since i live in canada (ntsc) i thought that i had to load the template for ntsc even if the divx is pal.
    Thanks for the help.

Nero never gives me a coaster if I burn a mpeg.

Find a software on this site to check your mpeg properties if it's vcd compliant or not.

Or Try the above software to burn a vcd.

Or convert part of the divx , burn the smaller sized mpeg on a cdr and check if it can be played.
