Having really bad problems with new pioneer DVR-104

I bought the pioneer DVR-104 yesterday, and it will not burn dvd.
I can burn cdr no problem.
I have tried using a Princo RW it keeps telling me the media is not blank, so i blank it and it says the same.

Ive tried Nero 5.8.0.0 and Prassi Primo DVD 2.0

I have tried 2 DVD-R's and both burned using Prassi, but when it got to 100% and finalizing disc, it hangs there for about 20 minutes.

I only wrote 20MB to the dvd-r yet it seems to be 1/3 full (is this normal).

I have aspi installed, i have it on its own ide cable.

I just cant think whats up with it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Only help I can offer since I don't have the drive (yet), is to make sure you have the newest updates for the software. I read a post about some of the software not natively working with the A04 without the newest updates. Check it out!
