  1. Hello,

Tried all of the hacks that are available for Technika products but of course, they don't work.

    Can anybody help?

Also, I looked at DVD Exploder, but couldn't justify paying the money. Is it worth it?

Just getting really frustrated with it now, got a boxset I really want to watch!

    Regards,

    FalderL

Simply making a backup copy of the discs makes them region free....but you will still need to deal with the NTSC/PAL aspect of the discs you imported. Not a problem if you are in Europe....but still a problem if you are in the United States.

Technika appears to be some kind of fly by night brand sold in the UK. As such we assume that you can rip your DVDs to make them region free and reburn them and they'll play OK on your DVD player and look OK on your TV as NTSC region free DVDs. AnyDVD and DVDFab (there is a free version of this) are the best for DVD ripping. Burn with the free ImgBurn and use either Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim DVD discs for the best results. If you need to burn to dual layer sized discs, you are very strongly encouraged to ONLY use Verbatim DVD+R DL discs or you may have burning or playback problems. But Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden are both fine for single layer discs.

All players cannot be unlocked. Sometimes codes don't work any more due to hardware/firmware changes during manufacture. Sometimes codes only work on players sold in other parts of the world. If you can't make anything you've found work the odds are very poor that DVD Exploder will do the job. If you are OK with watching these on a PC, you can install the free VLC player as it ignores region codes and all PCs can play PAL and NTSC DVDs both as PAL/NTSC is really a TV issue and not a PC issue.
