The price is right, but there are no real compelling reasons for me to upgrade other than to "feed the kitty" for the future.

Besides, January is when the SUPER-DILLY deals pop up.

Last year, I thought I saw CS6 for like $799 OTD. But I didn't get it because the product sucks, and is defective.

  2. I though you were a vegas fanboi ? All the cool kids / sheep are upgrading

    This was interesting to me:
Import and export a wide range of project files to and from Vegas Pro 12. The built-in software can convert between the native .veg file and AAF, for Avid® ProTools®, XML for Apple® Final Cut Pro® 7, Final Cut Pro X (export only) and DaVinci Resolve 8, and .prproj for Adobe® Premiere® Pro CS6 and After Effects® CS6.

The wording on that is not specific enough, and I'm sure the interop flow is geared more for advanced Vegas users, like yourself, that use pro tools. Not for us gipsys.

This also cuts down on vacuum cleaner companies morphing into NLE makers, hahaha. Like Blender, a kitchen appliance into a whole cook station.

Interchangeability is always a good thing, but more beneficial for SCS than me. The Vegas interface has got to be the most intuitive and interactive of them all.

I posit that the statement "What more can they possibly do? is true. If you can't edit a nice professional piece of media, at this point, throwin' in the Kitchen sink too" isn't going to help you. That's how robust Vegas already is.

Now they're wanting to play nice and gambling that the silky-smooth Vegas interface GUI makes 'em customers. Maybe pick off some customers all around.

I'll upgrade eventually. It'll never be more if you wait. HitFilm shot themselves in the arse by deepening the discount last Jan. right after the "Final" season sale.

Nobody zoonk's me on a sale. Once I get belligerent, I get stubborn too, hehehe.

if this actually works it would save me lots of time colormatching multiple camera's outputs -
Color Match allows you to automatically match the color between clips
haven't looked at the pricetag yet though...

  5. I doubt the color match will be that accurate. It's more likely just a rough match and you have still have to fine tune it with other things

@EataPuss, that's a good one to tell the wife though. Oops, my faux pas. But of course I have my first $20 framed on the wall to remind mine.

I'm still working on the second twenty.
