Someone suggested Handbrake on another forum, I think that will do it.

  6. If by "DVD player" in your initial post you mean DVD Player, which comes as part of a Mac's 'built in' software, I don't believe it allows you to Save anything.

It's a DVD compliant files player.

"Save" is, for want of a better example, an 'editing' option - you change a file, you Save it. There's nothing to save if all you've done is loaded a file into a player to watch.

So, what you need, if the VIDEO_TS you have is not copy-protected, which introduces other earlier stages into the process, is a program that allows you to watch the content, but also allows other treatments of the loaded file(s).

MPEG Streamclip comes to immediate mind, but you'll need to look into the supplementary programs that facilitate MPEG Streamclip's full operations. Quicktime MPEG2 Component, for one. Perian (I would recommend) for another.

    Good luck, Michael

MPEG Streamclip (as previously suggested by michaelmcgennan) is another VOB to Quicktime converter for Macs. However you need to use the latest beta version for YouTube compatibility, and you need to read and follow the installation instructions for your version of OS X found at the Squared 5 website.
