This is a finalized video, an hour long.
When looking at the unrendered project, it looks fine.
After rendering (it was edited in Adobe...whatever it's called, CS5) it works and freezes for a few seconds, then works again and freezes again and so on.

Anybody has any ideas what happened or why it's doing this?
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thank you.

Need more detail. How the original file was made. Which adobe version. Import both files with mediainfo and post the results.

The original was shot with a Panasonic VDR-M55PP on 5 small DVDs (DVD-R, 30 min, 1.5 GB each)
It was edited with Adobe Premiere CS5, rendered and burned on a DVD.
I would rather not show it, as this is a wedding video.
On a second read, you asked for the results from mediainfo, I will get back later.

Well you sure did not give much info either way.

I was wondering what software you were playing it with but ?

The first little bit of information you seem to have actually added from your first post, because you basically gave none that is of much use,
rendered and burned on a DVD.
You did not say that in your first post, just
it works and freezes for a few seconds, then works again and freezes again and so on.
So it freezes after being burned to a DVDR & played back on your PC, a standalone player ?

I would rather not show it, as this is a wedding video.
No one said they wanted to watch the whole thing, even if someone did say to upload TEN SECONDS of video to check, which no one did!
    Oy Vey!!

Is what I seemed to have read.....
The less info given and the more that has to be dragged out of you the more incorrect guesses you will get and the longer it will take to figure it out.

Sorry guys, thank you for your patience.

Yes, it freezes and starts again when watched on both PC or a DVD player. I don't think the player software makes a difference, it freezes on any player.
Can you see the screen capture for MediaInfo in my previous post?

So again, to make sure, it is freezing FROM a dvdr ?

    Odds are crappy media.

What software are you using to burn them with, what speed ?

And have you tried to play the file/folder from your hard drive before burning to see how it plays back ?

You would need the MID from a disc to make sure, but I am sure they are not quality media.
Personally I would never use them and most experianced users here probably would not either.

Use Imgburn or DVDinfo to get the disc id.

Much appreciated, Noah. I will have to get back on this tomorrow.
A friend helped me with the editing, so I don't know some of the answers, as the PC/software used for the editing are not mine.
What is the MID, and what media would you use to burn a DVD on?

What I asked has absolutely NOTHING to do with "editing"......

Or is this a disc you only have and someone else authored and burned it ?

Dontcha just love it when people make it so easy

  12. The M.I.D. is the media code that tells you who exactly made the disc. ImgBurn can tell you via Mode-> Discovery.

Betcha it's CMC_MAG. (CMC Magnetics in Taiwan). Philips has sold a lot of them under their brand.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!

Thank you guys for all your help.

I shot the original footage on the above mentioned Panasonic camcorder on 5 small disks.
From those, my friend edited (because I don't have the software nor the PC good enough, not to mention the knowledge) the final video which is one hour long and that was burned on the DVD mentioned above.
I don't remember if we tried to watch the video after rendering directly from the folder.
After 3 hours of working on it and waiting for ever for rendering, we were eager to see it finished.
I will post more info tomorrow, after I find it.
    Thanks again.
