Slideshow program Recommendations

New to this area of design. I need to find a program that I can create a slideshow using my scanned photos and some video, add music and is easy to use. I want to be able to alter the timeline as well as the music length.

I've read some reviews but still not sure what I need.

Does the program allow me to alter photos, alter the timeline, add music and adjust the length, fade in and out, add effects?

Does it have drivers so that I will be able to burn DVD's (which I can not do right now)?

Will it create a professional looking video without a years worth of training?

Any advice and recommendations would be great, thank you.
