I am a newbie to video capture. I am moving up from producing VCD slideshows with still images for playback on my home DVD player. What I would like to do now is capture the video from my old analog vcr tapes for playback in my home DVD player. After reading over some posts and other input from this website, I am thinking about the Dazzle Digital Video Creator. Right now I'm running an AMD Athlon 1200, 320 MB ram and 40 HD. Is this a good place to start?

Dazzle DVR-II is great card for capturing MPEG2 (SVCD or DVD) and also for VCD capture. The Chip on this card, C-Cube, was originally designed for SVCD usage so the MPEG2 quality is vert good. It comes with an external connector box, so you can easilt plug your VCR, DVD to it and capture.
I currently own one and i've been very happy with it!
If you want more information, or want to check if your hardware is raported to work with the card 100%, please check this site:
