I've digitalized many tapes but now I'm having trouble with one (well, I've already had a problem with another tape) but this is different. I've tried playing this tape on a VCR connected to the TV and it works fine, but when I connect the VCR to the computer via EASY CAP it doesn't work... and I've tried with 3 different VCRs!
The problem is the following: when I see the preview of what's being digitalized in the software display, I can see the VCR screen (so the problem aren't the VCRs) but whenever I press Play to run the tape, the display freezes, like there's no signal. When I press Stop, I can see the VCR screen again.

So, I know that both the tape and the VCRs are fine, and I've already adjusted the tracking.
Do you have any clues about what's happening here?

This is what I mean by VCR screen:

That would be my guess too. Is this a home video? or a Hollywood movie?

Still could be a signal that, because of tape corruption/compromises, is looking to your capture hardware like Macrovision, and so it blocks it.

Try other VCR and capture hardware combinations. And you may need to get a VBI-removing/replacing TBC (most are).
