  1. On rare BDs, DVDfab will crash during the initial scan (example: Black Dynamite). Is there another blu-ray ripper out there that can rip specific chapters straight to M2TS? I have no need to do any re-encoding. So far, Pavtube is the only other ripper I've found that actually allows for ripping straight to M2TS without re-encoding. Unfortunately, it seems only to be able to rip whole titles and not specific chapters in those titles (at least, the trial version does this).

  2. Clown_BD works great for this. You have the option of ripping to iso, ts or m2ts. And it's free! HTH

Thanks, Clown_BD's a nice little program and a good alternative ripper/demuxer. Splitting by chapters for BDs appears to be broken in it, though. And, even if it worked, it looks like it makes you rip the entire movie and without being able to select just one chapter. Ah well.

Xilisoft, on the other hand, is awful. It can't do direct stream copy or rip chapters. Pretty sure it messed up my BD-ROM drivers when I uninstalled, too. Avoid that like the plague.

Do your homework Skippy...DVDDecrypter has been dead and buried since 2005 and is sadly missed....hence the toe tag in the picture.

Its not true that Pavtube is not capable of ripping individual chapter. I've just downloaded the trial version and found it to be an effective Blu-ray chapter ripper. My only complaint is that it can't deal with dts or dts-hd or TrueHD audio. Its best output audio selection is AC3.
