Downloaded this movie from the net, and when I finished I
was left with a BIN/CUE file. No problem, I'll just burn it with
Fireburner and I'll have my VCD.

Got a very strange error message, something to the affect
that there was an error when testing the file. So, I took out
CDRWin to do the job. It couldn't open the CUE sheet either.

So, I said I'll just pull the .DAT file out with ISO Buster and
convert it to .MPG, then make my VCD. ISO Buster worked
the way it was design, and I pulled out the .DAT file. I even
verified the .DAT file would play with WMP.

I opened VCDgear to convert the .DAT to .MPG, worked like
a charm until I tried to play it with WMP. I get this error msg:
Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported.

Why can't I play the converted .mpg file, when the .DAT file
plays beautifully. I haven't tried to take the .DAT file directly
into Nero, I'd like to find out the nature of my problem.
    Why doesn't this work?

Maybe instead of answering my initial question, you could tell me
how to verify the integrity of a MPG file, or better yet how to fix
    one?
    Why doesn't this work?

  3. Why don't you just use Iso buster to extract the dat files as a mpeg? To do that, load the cue file with iso buster, then after the dir's are all shown go to the mpeg2 dir, click on the mpg or dat file, right click and choose extract at the top. Just worked for me on another mpeg2.

  4. You could try regenerating the CUE/BIN image (with all the included goodies) by: http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=217086#217086

Vitualis, I'll give this a try. BTW--I've tried burning the BIN/CUE
using CDRWin, and extracting the DAT/MPG file and burning it.
    Both processes failed.
    Why doesn't this work?

  6. It's hard to say...

Did regenerating the CUE/BIN image work?
