  1. Hi.

I have made a video about 3 minutes long in Windows Movie Maker but can't figure out how to save the video out. Witchever video format I choose when saving out the video the percentage done stays at 0% and the 'minutes remaining' just climbs. I've had it running for about 30 minutes now, still on 0% and the minutes remaining is on about 9500 minutes!

Anyone have an idea what to do.?

Unfortunately I have frequently gotten crashes with wmm whenever I have tried using it (on an xp computer).

I would suggest updating to the latest version of wmm if you have not already done so.

However wmm is not exactly the most robust software you can use. I would suggest checking out other editors at this link:

    https://www.videohelp.com/tools/sections/video-editors-advanced

In the type column select the first down arrow to sort by free software first. Then you can check what interests you (please note if it will work on windows of course).

There are also trial versions available for the pay software. If you don't need high definition support you can get standard definition software packages at a quite reasonable price.

  3. When you say you "made a video in wmm"...exactly what does that mean? Did you make a slide show or did you import a video clip? If slide show, how large were the photos or if video clip, from what camera and what file extension?

Yoda's response is good but we need more info to answer your question more fully.

From what exactly ... the freeze is generally caused by wmm reading the files before starting the output process.

I'm a rarity ... in all the years Ive never had issues with wmm ... except the lack of output sucked

Well at least for standard def you could output to dv-avi so you could do stuff with it.

Doesn't it have high def output if you select wmv? Although wmv isn't exactly the easiest format to use for other applications.
