  1. Just a starting to learn about this stuff. When ripping a DVD to convert to SVCD or XSVCD and pulling out the AC-3 from the DVD, will the (x)svcd have an AC-3 audio track too??? I know with regular svcd you can only have 2 audio tracks, but is it possible to rip from dvd to put on cd-r in xsvcd format and still preserve the dolby digital? Any info would be greatly appriciated!!!

  3. Apparently you can only preserve a Dolby Prologic track. It IS possible to create a true 5.1 sound track, but only in Linux, and VERY FEW players will properly play it, even though SVCD standard allows for this.

There is a post on using DVD2AVI to decode dolby, referencing a DVD rip, I believe it downmixes 5.1 Digital Sound to Prologic, then you use TooLame or BeSweet to encode audio, does anyone know how to do this on a TV capture?
