  1. Hello everybody!

I recently bought a Blackmagic Intensity Pro, and I have hooked up my Wii to it via component cables. When using the bundled "Media Express" capturing software that comes with the BMIP, the video looks fantastic in the program. (I am recording using NTSC 23.98 as the video format, and AVI Motion JPEG as the file format.) But, when the video is played in any other program, any motion in the video becomes comprised of a bunch of lines. (Which I have come to understand is called "interlaced"? I have attached an image of what it looks like.) When I upload the video to YouTube (the primary reason why I bought this card), the lines still appear in the video and it just looks awful.

As I understand it, the Blackmagic Media Express software knows that this video is interlaced and fixes it while playing it. Well, that's great, but how do I make EVERYTHING ELSE see the video properly? Seeing the video clearly in BME is completely useless to me; I need to use the video files for editing in Adobe Premiere Pro, Flash, and such. Do I need to record the files using my current method, and then use a separate program to convert the video? Or are there secret settings in BME that I can't find?

Please note that I am a total layman when it comes to video capturing, so please go easy on me and try to use laymen's terms when telling me what I need to do. Other posts that I have seen regarding interlacing issues went completely over my head.

Thank you so much in advance. I am getting pretty broken up over this issue.

Change your capture settings to 29.97 instead of 23.98 fps. Setup your Premiere project for Interlaced video. Upload to YouTube and it should deinterlace it, though the results may be worse than what you could get via other methods.
