    How can I convert DVD from windows to a "raw" avi without codecs that can be played on Mac?

    A mac can play anything with VLC media Player, MplayerX, etc so you don't need to convert to some special format.

    But you can use Mpeg streamclip or avidemux and convert to a DV that is easier to edit in mac software. A RAW/uncompressed avi would be gigantic.
