    Hello,

Let me just say up front that I am a noob when it comes to DVD burning, etc...

Recently, I converted an AVI file to VOB w/ AVS video converter in order to burn it to a disc using imgburn. The original file had a VOBSUB type subtitle file which AVS didn't recognize, so I edited and converted it to SRT format using Subtitle Edit. After that, I burned it to a disc and all was well for about thirty minutes and then the subs stopped working. When I play the video file with a DivX player on my computer, everything works fine. Please let me know what to do here since the problem is obviously beyond my experience at this time...

Try avstodvd or convertxtodvd instead of avs video converter. And before you burn try the authored dvd with a software dvd player like VLC Media Player.
