    There are a number of YouTube videos I wanna rip and then convert to audio. Which format would provide the best audio quality: MP4, FLV, or WebM?

    Also, bearing in mind that I'm downloading the videos in the highest possible quality offered, are there any other ways to improve the sound quality?

    If this chart is accurate, a 1080p version of WebM will give you the highest audio quality

    Converting the audio (re-encoding) will only lower the quality. You would be better of demuxing the audio

    Only if there is something specific to fix would you try to do some other audio processing
