My neighbour has a misconception that I know a thing or two about DVD related things, so he has asked me why is it that on his machine does a certain DISC he has bought, when he presses the stop button, it does STOP but also goes back to the main menu, and dosent stop and keep its place on the disc so to speak, so he can resume play from the same place. He reckons its only this disc that does it and all others resume play. The disc is a region 0 disc but not a recordable one but a silver one as in the type you buy from a shop. This rougue disc of his performs with no problems on both my Blu-Ray player and DVD Player.....Can anyone shed any light on this, Is it the disc at fault or his machine ?

The answer may be in this topic.

"The 'stop' button is a feature of the player".
But in saying that, this should then happen with all disks played in that machine
