I have a DVD made up of 3 VOBs that I've been trying to soft-sub so I can watch it using VLC and just loading the srt files, but I can't get the subs to synch right.
When I play the VOBs together (I tell it to open the VIDEO_TS folder to play the 3 together) the subs aren't timed correctly, half the time they appear and disappear after a split second, and the subtitles steadily become out of synch with the video as this goes on (it's 1:34:00 long approx). I have fiddled with the frame rate and delay settings in VLC and still no real improvement. I also noticed while playing the VOBs together as one long movie that the time jumps a few seconds kinda often.
I've tried using SubtitleEdit after demuxing the VOBs into one video file and synchronizing points (that was the only way I could bring the 3 together without changing the file type) but this still doesn't work, and I looked at trying to sub the individual VOBs but the durations are different or the speed/timevalue is different for the individual VOBs as opposed to when playing all 3 together.
Any ideas as to how I can fix this? Or if there's a program that will help? Newb in crisis here![]()
