    i ripped my entire seinfeld boxset and converted them to avi
    when i play them on my WD media box they are slightly out of sync, till i fast forward them briefly then they are perfect

    is this unsual?

    if i convert those files to mkv will it fix it? ive never econcountered this before

    But how do you convert? WHat software and settings(video and audio codec)?

    i ripped them to computer then convtered with freemake video converter to avi
    all the avi files i convertered were slightly out of syn ( till i fast forward it a few seconds with remote then when i stop its normal)

    all the ones i did the same thing but used mkv are fine

    dont know what settings i used, just click avi and chose what file size i wanted..it said up top, same as source thats all i remember

    I think freemake makes avi with h264 video by default and it's not the best solution. It's better to put h264 video in a mkv or mp4 container.


    I use autogk and fairuse wizard for dvd to avi conversions and handbrake for dvd to mkv/mp4 conversions. I haven't used freemake for any dvd to conversions.
