  1. I'm interested in using the Intensity Pro (http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/ ) to record my Xbox 360 gameplay.
I'll be installing it to my computer (http://support.gateway.com/s/PC/DX/1015700R/1015700Rnv.shtml ).
Are the computer specs even good enough to record video, preferably up to HD?

My desktop (VGA) and Xbox 360 (HDMI) are connected to the same computer monitor with a native resolution of 1680x1050.
I have my Xbox set to a resolution of 1680x1050 (looks the best) but I can change it to 720p or 1080p.
According to the Intensity Pro specs, it doesn't support 1680x1050 recording, so I would have to change my Xbox to 1080/720p right?

    Thanks.

not likely to work - your comp and video probably isn't good enough.

and especially check video card requirements link and hard drive requirements for HD.

You might want to look into getting a hauppauge hdpvr instead if your computer can't handle the blackmagic as aedipuss is hinting at.

The hdpvr records component up to 1080i (your xbox must be set to 480, 720 or 1080i prior to connecting for it to register). You can do 5.1 dolby digital via fiber optic. The hd pvr records h264 into either a mp4, m2ts or ts file. - edit - also the hdpvr has component pass through so you can play it on the tv while recording.

You can easily get the component cable for the xbox 360.

Also the hdpvr works well on a dual core pc. My hdpvr runs fine on a dual core 2.7ghz amd processor - 2gbs ram with vista premium 32bit

Edit - the hdpvr is an external box that connects to your computer via usb.
