First of all, can an SVCD support any audio above 2 channels? I dont care if its DTS or whatever, just if it has more than 2 channels. And second, I'm encoding an avi from a really old vhs with home movies on it. I'm using TMPEnc 2.5 and I put the noise reduction all the way up to make it look the best. When I do this, it takes 30+ hours to encode on my P4 1.8. When I take the noise reduction off, it takes like 3 hours. Why is this? Will the output mpeg file look the same on my tv, and will the file size vary at all if i use noise reduction?
Thanks

you should use the noise reduction filter if it is really necessary. tmpgenc calculates the noise reduction pretty slow. you can use it in virtual dub beacuse it calcutlates noise reduction in real time. setting all the way up makes the image look "faked". 20 - 1 - 20/100 is good.
im not sure, but more than 2 audio channels arent possible -
SVCD support MPEG-2 audio (multichannel), but not many dvd players support it.
