I have a Region 4 Samsung BD-P1500 and, using the hacks listed on this forum (Thanks!), unlocked it and have been enjoying Australian and US DVDs for the past few months. However, even though it was purchased brand new about 3 years ago, I have never watched a Blu-Ray before. I got a few on sale yesterday and when I try to play them I get the error "this disc cannot be read". Is this message because of having unlocked the player to make it region-less? Does anyone have any suggestions to get the BD to play?
System Information says:
S/W: 080702.01_081908B1_XSA
Region: B/9 (BD/DVD)
Thank you!

Maybe try updating the firmware? But I wouldn't be surprised if it breaks your region-free hack.

Yeah, it might be the firmware. Supposedly, BDs can refuse to play if your firmware isn't as up-to-date as they want. Some may even automatically attempt to update your firmware (without asking you). Perhaps it found something it just didn't like about the setup, and is refusing to play (which is also normal for Blu-Ray).
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
