    I downloaded a mpg vidio file from bearshare and when i try to view it on windows media player, it says no codec found. I've downloaded various encoders but all say no valid vidio stream. I'm totally lost.

    the file is probably garbage.
    that's the problem with p2p programs

    Thanks, that is what i was afraid of. I was hoping I wasn't using the right codec for the job and there was a quick fix. i get this problem with all the larger p2p downloads.
