I bought a Terapin to finally preverve an old videotape to VCD. This thing is a godsend to me. I've tried for years to make sense of the computer capture/author lingo for making VCD's(or just to preserve this tape digitally) with no luck. The source tape is old but in pretty good condition. Sure....on a big screen TV it looks fuzzy...but so does the tape on a normal size screen if you stare hard enough.
I've had no burning problems so far..the only thing I dont like about the Terapin is the almost impossible "indexing" of a VCD(track creation?) on the fly and the un-named inputs to the machine. It has TONS of inputs but none are clearly named in the on screen menu.
At least now I wont have to continue to ruin this priceless videotape further every time I want to watch it.
I plan on experimenting with it further with better source material.
