  1. I have an MKV file

    Video
    ID : 1
    Format : AVC
    Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
    Format profile : High@L4.0
    Format settings, CABAC : Yes
Format settings, ReFrames : 8 frames
    Muxing mode : Container profile=Unknown@4.0
    Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC
    Duration : 1h 32mn
Nominal bit rate : 864 Kbps
    Width : 1 280 pixels
    Height : 720 pixels
    Display aspect ratio : 16:9
    Frame rate : 24.000 fps
    Color space : YUV
    Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0
    Bit depth : 8 bits
    Scan type : Progressive
    Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.039

I have tried 2 times to encode this to a pal mpeg2 dvd compliant file in TmpGenc 4 to then author to dvd.. The file encodes ok but on testing both times it comes back as very jittery playback that would make you sick if you watched it! Is there anything i can do with the mpeg 2 files or a setting i have to use with the original MKV to rectify this problem??

    Thank you

Did you make the mkv file? If you did I would suggest dropping Format settings, ReFrames : 8 frames to say 4

If it came your way? then maybe try another DVD authoring program like VSO COnvertXtoDVD and see how that handles the file.
