    Hello,

I'm not finding many solutions here in the USA. Looking for cheap or basic printer that will allow me to print directly to CD/DVD.

Are DVD backups so resolute. I hate having my backups look like there illegal, most of these are kiddy flicks that I don't wont the original to be destroyed.

I can find maybe one or two printers that have this feature.

    Any suggestions?

  3. I think us Americans are stuck using either Epson Printers that come with the optional CD/DVD Printing Tray (currently the cheapest option),
or springing for the highly expensive (and oddly, usually lower quality) other options.

I have had much success with the Epson Artisan 810. The internal CD/DVD loader is alot more convenient and less frustrating than the manual tray loader in the older models. Not sure what you consider cheap, but $200 for something I get a lot of use out of is a pretty good deal. I know you said basic, but it is fax/printer/copier. Plus if you buy the TY DVDs with watershield, the backups look almost identical to a pressed DVD (Except for a ring around the outer edge).

For cheap? Get any of these Canons used (I recommend the iP3000 - the last one I bought on Kijiji.ca was $5 and it works great). Do the tray mod and get a tray off eBay. One of the best parts is a whole set of carts will only set you back $8 (last generation of chipless carts).
