  1. I try to create a SVCD to play a composed movie on any/most stand alone DVD player, got VCD working but gives a lower quality :

    -composed Studio7 - Indeo output
-encoded TMPG to mpeg 2 according to here advised settings
-encoded and burned with nero to VCD (is OK and works)
-burned with VCDEasy to SVCD (wont work)
Tested playback on salone-DVD player (JVCXV522) and powerdvd xp (4) with pioneer s106 PCDVD

SVCD (500Mb) gives me higher quality I think than VCD (260Mb) on one CDR but it wont play (unsported file format both standalone and PC player ? the time is ticking but a black screen..

tried on advise from VCDEasy the MPEG2 and MPEGAV choice but either wont work.

Can anyone give me some advise I hope not rendering again width S7 or TMPGenc ?!

why not burn the SVCD with Nero?
turn off the "create standard compliant CD" option, and burn the CD with Nero...it should work just fine, I've never had a problem getting them to work
that's assuming, of course, that your standalone is SVCD compliant...

I also tried Nero SVCD but same result ... I red the compatibilty list and a lot of stand alone DVD players do not support SVCD so that can be the problem...

But am I correct to say that there is no alternative to generate a better quality VCD that is playable on many DVD players like the list shows.

I used Nero to create the VCD that works. I Dropped the core file and Nero created/converted it into a (mpeg 1) VCD automatically. Can I improve quality ?? and with what custom settings in Nero or VCDEasy can I do that but without making it less playable on DVD players ??

thanks in advance for all info...
