Hi, I'm Marjon from the Netherlands and will today buy my first BluRay player.
I have a lot of Australian and American dvd's so I was relieved to find the region hack code here.
My sincere thanks for that only, I understand they get regular firmware updates and it undoes everything that was on it.
Will the hack keep, and.. is there a limit (for excample I saw you can do it 25x on another site) to how often you can do it?
I'm on disability so understandably nervous about buying a for me big buy.
Thanks in advance for your help.![]()

Well, you don't HAVE to connect it to the internet and that would certainly stop the updates. I do NOT recommend EVER doing firmware updates on a BluRay player. They're rarely necessary and they have been reported to break region free hacks. Do note that internet accessible disc features won't be reachable that way, but you may be like me and feel that you can live without those.
I don't know if anyone really knows what happens if you try to undo a firmware update. On some models it may be possible. On others it either won't work to try this or it may break the player. -
YAY, thanks a lot!
I didn't even think about using the internet features.
My old dvd player is playing up now and won't load most things unless it's top quality dvd's (it's over 4 years old and used a lot so no surprise) .
I have a HD tv now and needed a good player, I don't use internet on tv either..I've got a laptop..good enough for me.
Thanks again!
