    Hello

I am planning on purchasing "Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 Production Suite"
    Here : http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/moviestudiopp

It includes Sound Forge Audio Studio 10
    Here: http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/buy/audiostudio

Is there builtin audio features in Vegas Movie Studio, if i go with "Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11" (http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/moviestudiope) instead of the suite. Do i need to purchase the audio studio seperately ?

In order words, should i go with "Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11" or "Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 Production Suite" ?

I definitely need an audio editor for recording Vocals only. If i only get the platinum version without Sony audio studio, would i be able to edit audio in the video editor ?

By the way, should i get the Downloading version or the Boxed version of Vegas ? I am trying to save money on shipping charges. Is there any benefit in ordering a boxed version ?

When I suggested Sound Forge (in that other thread), I was thinking the "Pro" version. On a hunch, I did a little checking, and while it still has some FX/Processing/Plugins, I can't guarantee that it has the kind of Noise Reduction (Hum Removal) that you were looking for (at least built-in). I KNOW the pro version does. Good thing is there is support for both VST and DirectX Plugins (IIRC), so you could get 3rd party plugins (some of which are Freeware/Opensource) that could help you even if it doesn't come stock.

Re: Needing Audio Studio vs. the Full Vegas Movie Studio Suite...

If you plan on doing ANY video editing, you'll want a true Video NLE, not just a video function inside an Audio editor. Since there is ALWAYS some amount of audio edit control built into ANY NLE, even if it's bare bones, it might be enough for you, FOR RECORDING/EDITING PURPOSES. It won't be, for audio processing purposes (if you have similar processing needs as hum removal, etc.). One can just record vocals only with Vegas (no picture necessary), if that's what you might intend to do.

    Re: Downloading vs. Prepackaged...
I don't know if the most recent versions have physical manuals, but other than that possibility or Supplemental Training/Tutorial/Example materials, or bonus swag, it's not really any different.

    Thanks scott

can you clarify the above paragraph.

Do you mean Vegas Pro when you said Video NLE or can i do with Vegas Movie Studio Production Suite, as its quite cheaper than the Pro.
