Hey everyone-- does anyone know an easy way to filter out the fans from the MPB in garageband? I got the idea from the apple website's new video about their new macbook pros. They showed a db vs frequency curve (or something of that sort) about the "old" fan style, where the blades are placed in a uniform position, creating a noise spike in the with a single peak in the frequency distribution.
One thing I thought would solve it was buying a new microphone-- but I got one (a USB connection) and it unfortunately buzzes when I'm not touching the computer... So I must be close to the fans to touch it (although I could hook up a wire) so I've been singing while touching my big toe to the Al2O3 casing. I'm assuming that's a ground issue but not sure...
Any help would be much appreciated-- once I get rich and famous from my music, I will give you 10.000 Euro for fixing my problem ;P

Have you tried the Apple Forum? There must be a plethora of information over there.

The main problem with using frequency filtering to remove noise from your recording is that while you may be able to eliminate the fan noise, you will also remove any of the recorded music that falls in the same frequency range. Your optimal solution is fix the microphone problem.
