I've been recording video walkthroughs for YouTube. I've only worked w/ Vegas for about a week & not very much literal time during that week. The video's I captured and rendered all showed up w/ a mp4 version & video file version. Now, I'm not getting the mp4 format, only the video file. Why isn't it saving the rendered video in mp4 format? I never changed anything, and it did it on everyone up until 2 days ago when it began only displaying a saved "video file" version. How do I get it back into mp4, and why did it all of the sudden just decide to stop saving in mp4? Any feedback, suggestions, help, etc.. would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you all very much!!!!

If any of you saw my other thread, about videos previewing in Vegas and being way off center, it's still doing that. After I render it & upload to YouTube, it looks perfectly fine. I'm still baffled at why my recorded video shows up so offset in the preview screen in Vegas, but I don't really know anything about it.

The basic tutorials don't explain to you why sometimes your pc saves a video in mp4 format, then all of the sudden stop and only saves it as a video file. You don't have to read the posts I make on this site either, so don't.

vegas only saves what you tell it to. .mp4 is a video file so your post isn't making much sense, be specific. to start with which vegas are you talking about? studio, pro, studio HD? what version 6,7,8,9,10,11? no one can answer questions without the proper info to start with.

if you need to know the format of your "videos" try mediainfo, text mode you can copy/paste here.

Hint. You choose the export format under "Render as".

    Which Vegas product and version?

What are your import video formats?

    What are your project settings?

What video formats are you trying to export?
