Ive just recently converted a few of my DVDs to MKV H.264 using Handbrake. I was Pretty happy with the results but decided to compare it to DVDfab for quality of picture. The first thing I noticed was that there was less shadowing on the edges of objects (Example - the credits). I decided to go back to Handbrake and try and reduce the amount of shadowing the handbrake rip produces. I'm guessing shadowing (if thats the correct term) is due to the sharpness of the picture??, I'm pretty new to all this so any help would be most appreciated.
