Just got a new camcorder Canon Vixia HF S20. So far I very like it but...
Final Cut Pro 6 can't see my new camcorder. It can see my old Sony DCR-TVR950... iMovie can see Canon Vixia HF S20 and import clips from it. But what I do wrong with Final Cut? I do next:
    1. File 2. Log and capture 3. View 4. External video 5. All frames 6. View 7. Refresh A/V devices ... but no communication with camcorder.
Probably I do something wrong in FCP. I don't have a lot experienced with it yet.
Camcorder comes with editing soft but for WINDOWS only And in manual in chapter "Saving Recordings on a Computer" gives just instruction how to install and use soft for Windows (shame for Canon). I understand from manual that it should work with Mac.
I can use iMovie to download clips but if someone can explain me how to do it with FCP 6 please?

I have the same problem. I found these FAQs (http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/camcorders/consumer_camcorders/vixia_h...viceAndSupport) provided by Canon but it didn't help much... still can't figure out how to capture with Final Cut.

I could capture the files with iMovie, then import those to FCP. That is not a terrible option because you don't have to render the video files in final cut and it seems like no video quality is lost, but its still not as convenient as capturing straight to FCP.

    Anyone else have any ideas?

  4. Log and Transfer instead of Log and Capture.
