I just bought a new comp:
Athlon 2000+ XP
512 Mb DDR ram
80 gig HDD
30 gig HDD
GeForce 4Ti 4200 Video-in
Running Windows XP
When i try and capture at 25 fps (i'm in Australia, so PAL) i get a LOT of frames dropped, actually running at around 16 fps. This is with both Picvideo anf Huffy. I have tried with overlay and preview on and off, still no success.
If anyone can help me with the setup, programs i should use etc, it would be greatly appreciated.

what program are you using to capture with??, if your using virtualdub, in windows 2000/Xp virtualdub is not supported, windows 2000/xp use the WDM capture driver, virtualdub is written for VMF driver so it doesn't work with WDM, i had the same problem
Instead I found AVI_IO to capture with zero frame loss, its supports the WDM capture Driver
You have windows XP, You can try to setup a RIAD O, it writes to two HD in 64k segments, really fast!! great for capturing video
If you want AVI_IO email devynmarc@hotmail.com -
Yeah i'm using virtualdub, i tried aviio and it worked great, except that like virtualdub, it sliced off some of the bottom of the video, and i was really limited in what resolution i could select.
I want to convert to SVCD in the end, so capturing at 352x288 is too small for me. What resolution do you suggest i capture at instead? 620x480?
Thanks.
