  1. I've read through many posts looking for help but haven't found a response that works. My .mts files won't play in MPC, MPCHC and Splash (no sound, no picture); vlc (sound, picture, but pixelated); the KMPlayer and wmp (sound, picture but choppy). h.264 is installed. But they will play fine in Cyberlink PowerDVD 9.0. I have ffdshow and haali splitter installed; DVXA is supported. PowerDVD doesn't have many optional settings including codec settings so I can't see what it's using but de-interlacing mode is set to none.

    Any thoughts?

My .mts files are almost the same, only 25.000 fps instead of 29.970 fps.
I have K-Lite installed and it plays everything.
Im trying to play the file in a virtual machine now, no codec's installed yet.. and will see.

  6. I updated the K-Lite codec pack and there are some changes. MPC, MPCHC and VLC have sound but are choppy. Splash has no sound and no picture. WMP: sound but choppy picture. Cyberlink: works fine. When I updated K-Lite it gave me a message at one point asking if I wanted to install VobSub since I already had Cyberlink H.264 installed. I say no.

I installed "K-Lite_Codec_Pack_720_Mega" in a virtual machine with "default" installation settings, and the .mts didnt play with the integrated mpchc, i reinstalled k-lite using "lot's od stuff.." settings, and now mpchc play's the .mts file normally.

  8. I used the default installation with the exception of the Cyberlink H.264. What do you mean by "lots of stuff"?

When you install k-lite, there is an option to use different type's of installation: default, only playback, lot's of stuff, everything(not recomended).. e.t.c.
Have you tried "DAPlayer" from digiarty'com ??
I know i have tried it some time ago, and it had good deinterlacing for the same type of video as your's, but i like mpchc more, it has dxva support, and i like the deinterlacing from it.
This is an example of my mts, its 90% as your's.

  11. DAPlayer gives sound but no picture. Could it be the Cyberlink H.264 rather than VobSub?

  13. Uninstalled k-lite then installed ffdshow and haali media splitter. Same result. I should add that the results are the same whether playing from the camcorder or from the hard disk.
