  1. I am interested in replicating a glass master DVD and manufacturing CD's. I don't want to go to a middle man company. I want to go directly to the manufacturing plants, which many are closing these days. Does anyone know where I can find a list of CD/DVD manufacturing plants that are in the United States? Thanks in advance.

  2. Almost impossible to answer that one. Those plants come and go so quickly that it's hard to keep track of them. They go to a city that gives them zero taxes for 5 years then they shut down and go to another city. Sony is a good example for that trick. Hynix is another.

  3. Thanks for your response. Are there any that you know of? I am looking for some in the northeast and the southeast as I don't want to ship anything, I want to be able to pick up in person. I also don't want duplication for my DVD. I want to make a glass master that is replicated.

On the Internet, it's difficult to distinguish between the middle men who send their work out to the actual plant and an actual CD/DVD manufacturer. Any ones that you actually know of would be greatly appreciated.

My nephew tipped me to this one. They migrate to business opportunity just like farm workers. Easy to ship the capital stuff. Blue states want all this to go off shore.

So should these guys pack off to Mexico or Viet Nam?

I think they employ about 300 in Spokane, WA.

This is why companies like this move to Viet Nam.

  5. Thanks. Looks like this company is the same as Blue Star Technologies INC, which is also in Spokane, WA. I'll give them a call tomorrow to see if they also do standard DVD's, which I believe they do. Thanks for the tip. I appreciate it.

  6. I have called BlueStar Technologies several times and no one picks up the phone, nor is there a way to leave a message. Furthermore, they do not respond to e-mails. This lack of response is very disappointing. Sounds like another company that has a lot of press releases, but is not ready.

They've always done great work for my company.

  8. That is a replicating house. The OP wants to do the replicating himself. Re-read his first post.

  9. More about BlueStar. Looks like they had a board of directors shake up in Feb of 2011. That smells of trouble. They fired the CEO. Press release says he stepped down but we all know what that means.

Their website makes you sit through a slow loading flash intro with blaring noise(music?). Not professional. "No one answers phone or email." Not Professional. Would anyone buy from that kind of company?

Odd that they claim that they are the leading maker of Blue Ray disks.

The OP asked, "Does anyone know where I can find a list of CD/DVD manufacturing plants that are in the United States?" The link I listed was such a manufacturing plant. The OP did not appear to be asking for the equipment to set up his own replication factory.
