The list of dvd recorders allows searching by feature however there is no way to search based on the presence of an ATSC tuner. The feature is listed however under features of the recorder. Would it be possible to add this feature?

I don't even understand what "loster" said ... it makes no sense to me!

He's saying that, in the DVD recorders list there is no option to search for recorders that have ATSC tuners but I suggested this months ago so I guess no one does care.

CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF I HAVE A REGION FREE RERCORDER DOES IT RECORDIN REGION FREE FORMAT ..ITS A HACKED LITE ON 5115 ..THANKS ARROWMAN
-
As far as I know, DVD recorders do not insert region codes on discs they record on to whether they are hacked or not. So, technically, the discs they produce are region free right out of the recorder.
-
IF THAT WAS THE CASE YOU'D BE ABLE TO PLAY ANY DISC ON ANY PLAYER !! ITS THE MACHINE THAT DETERMINES ITS REGION .
-
Actually, the disc determines the region.
I think you're confusing region code and video system format (NTSC or PAL).
I have worked with many DVD recorders (both NTSC and PAL) and none of them produces a disc that had a region code (1, 2, 3, etc.). The discs are all region free, sometimes called "Region 0".
For example, you can put a DVD recorded on a PAL DVD recorder in an NTSC player or recorder. The NTSC machine will attempt to play the PAL disc and will not be stopped by any region coding.
Whether you can see a picture properly on the NTSC TV is dependent on the NTSC player's ability to CONVERT the PAL signal to NTSC so that it can be viewed on the TV.
Two different issues that many people commonly confuse.
BTW, can you tone down the CAPS. It makes it hard to read your posts. -
hate to add more uninteligable questions but will the revision also show information for recorders without tuners of any form
Also, some DVD recorders have now appeared, that have no tuner at all. They can record only from other devices with tuners (e.g. cable STBs or DVRs, or standalone ATSC tuners for OTA broadcasts) via their line inputs.
